Coach Sapao has been training jiujitsu for over 12 years and has trained under some of the best practitioners and coaches in the sport. He began training with his longtime friends and black belts Cleber Luciano, Dan McCowan and Anthony Mantanona of Coachella Valley Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Judo. Coach Sapao moved to New York and joined world renowned jiu-jitsu team ALLIANCE-NYC, where he trained under head coach Fabio Clemente, Babs Olosumokan and legendary jiu-jitsu practitioner Lucas Lepri. After his time with team Alliance NYC, coach Sapao moved back to California where he has continued he’s training with team Alliance Los Angeles since its inception, under the tutelage of one of the greatest practitioners of all time, Rubens “Cobrinha” Charles Maciel.

Life long athlete of all conventional sports: baseball, basketball, soccer, football, hockey...David stopped everything after finding jiu-jutsu in 2010 and haven’t skipped a beat, nor plans to. David enjoys all things outdoors, fishing, hiking, camping, and backpacking. David loves that jiu-jitsu can be for everyone. David enjoys teaching/coaching jiu-jitsu as much as possible

Coach Lil' John began wrestling in 1999, completing his senior year at Canyon Springs High School; a So-Cal Power House Wrestling Program, then receiving a College Wrestling Scholarship. John collected numerous wrestling accolades including: 4-Time League Champion, multiple Masters Tournament & CIF-SS Placer, 3rd in the state Junior Fila 03, Dozens of Local and Regional tournament Gold Medals, The First "Raul Huerta Award" Recipient 03', "18 and under National Champion" 03', IEWA-All Star Team member 01'-03', All-American and National Champion 2006'. John completed his College Wrestling Journey in 2008 after 5 years of colleague completion and receiving a college Degree. After a Shoulder Injury in 2008, John's energy has been focused on teaching Youth, High School and Adult Wrestling. John has over 9 years of competition in wrestling in Folk, Freestyle and Greco-Roman Styles, accumulating 500+ career wins.
