Coach Sapao has been training jiujitsu for over 12 years and has trained under some of the best practitioners and coaches in the sport. He began training with his longtime friends and black belts Cleber Luciano, Dan McCowan and Anthony Mantanona of Coachella Valley Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Judo. Coach Sapao moved to New York and joined world renowned jiu-jitsu team ALLIANCE-NYC, where he trained under head coach Fabio Clemente, Babs Olosumokan and legendary jiu-jitsu practitioner Lucas Lepri. After his time with team Alliance NYC, coach Sapao moved back to California where he has continued he’s training with team Alliance Los Angeles since its inception, under the tutelage of one of the greatest practitioners of all time, Rubens “COBRINHA” Charles Maciel.
